I travelled another six years taking pictures in such places as Brazil, Russia, Mongolia and Ukraine before returning to Ireland to turn my photography into a career. In-between freelance assignments I work on my own projects. I like working with people the most. My goal is to make them at ease in their own environment so that I can tell their story through a picture. Printing is another passion.

A picture is not finished until it is printed.

Apart from being inspired by the work of National Geographic in the beginning, many photographers inspired me along the way and still do. To name a few: Evelyn Hofer with her calm, beautiful and telling portraits. Elliott Erwitt who captures the drama and humor of the street. Eugene Smith and Don McCullin for their revealing and powerful photojournalist work. Saul Leiter for his abstract use of colour and form. Ansel Adams and Todd Hido for their unique landscape work.
